Vision Therapy uses a series of exercises and techniques that are intended to improve visual skills, and brain coordination, ease eye strain and eye fatigue, and improve visual processing that cannot be corrected with traditional prescriptive glasses. This treatment plan is administered by a certified optometrist.

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER VISION THERAPY?

If you are experiencing unresolved eye strain, headache, double vision, cross eye/lazy eye, unable to focus properly, and loss of tracking of reading material, these could be an indication that you may benefit from Vision Therapy. A change in your prescription glasses may not always solve the underlying vision problem as it may be due to other factors such as poor tracking and pursuit of the eyes.

Commonly used to treat Convergence Insufficiency which causes blurry or double vision when you look at things up close such as a smartphone screen or a book. But it also helps people with crossed eyes (Strabismus), lazy eyes (Amblyopia), double vision (Diplopia), poor eye tracking, excessive or insufficiency focusing of the eyes, ADHD, and other learning–related vison disorders.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

The treatment program, which lasts up to 16 sessions (In-office: 45 minutes per session) per course, is designed specifically for an individual as eye conditions differ across everyone. Hence, the type of treatment varies across all individuals and it is performed under the supervision of an optometrist at our premises, along with home-based therapy as recommended. It is advisable to break no more than 14 days in between each in-office session.

By the end of the first course of the Vision Therapy treatment program, improvement can be seen and felt but results may vary based on the consistency of follow-up treatment, current eye health condition, and lifestyle of the individual.

A comprehensive eye examination (up to 90 minutes chair time) by an optometrist is required to assess the current eye conditions of the individual before a treatment plan can be proposed. As the underlying issues and the weakness of the eyes are different from each other, Vision Therapy must be designed specifically to the individual needs.

Up to 45 minutes per in-office session. This excludes additional home-based therapy minutes.

Once every week or fortnightly.
